The event to be organized by the Motorsport Africa Club (MOSAC0 has been confirmed to take place in Gomba on February 25.

It will be the first of five rounds to be attempted by drivers who are hop[eful of making it to the National Rally Championship (NRC) between February and November.

Like last year, the event will he held at the Kabenge Motorsport Arena in Gomba, but it will carry an added ingredient of a speed test outside the arena, according to even manager Hellen Alum.

“We are going to have a section outside the track so that we give these new racers the test and feel of what a proper rally is,” Alum explained.

“It is something new, but we feel it is good for them as it helps them improve their driving skills and also helps them familiarize what it feels like on a proper stage,” she added.

Joshua Muwanguzi, who habours dreams of joining the Clubman rally championship next season, is among those expected to take part in the event.

After missing out on the season opener in Mbarara, it remains to be seen whether Mike Mukula – who won the event last year – will take part in order to get a proper warm up before he launches his rally season.
