Following his arrest in January 2019 on charges of malicious damage to property and criminal trespass, his legal case experienced delays due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
However, upon the resumption of court proceedings in 2022, Lwakataka missed a court appearance, resulting in an arrest order.
After spending four months behind bars, he was found guilty but subsequently appealed the sentence and successfully secured bail, allowing him to resume his rally career.
Determined to reclaim his position at the top, he confidently declared, "I am now back and confirm to you that we shall definitely be competing in the Hoima rally because I have a lot to prove."
