Chana's second career victory in Eldoret bolsters his quest for championship triumph.

Series leader Jasmeet Chana is exuding confidence as he extends his lead in the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) to a commanding 67 points over his closest rival, McRae Kimathi.

Chana's stellar performance in the weekend's Eldoret Rally, where he clinched his second KNRC career victory and won the B13 category, has bolstered his chances of securing his maiden championship title this season.

Having narrowly missed out on the KNRC crown to Karan Patel in the final stages of the Voi rally last year, Chana is determined to make amends and believes that this season presents a better opportunity for him to emerge victorious.

His dominance over the past two seasons has been evident as he has spent more time on the podium than any other driver.

In the 2023 nine-leg championship, he has clinched two out of five events, an achievement that has given him a substantial lead over his competitors.

"Our strategy is to rack up as many points as possible considering the fact that you don't need to win a rally to win a championship,” Chana emphasized, showing his understanding of the championship's dynamics.

Throughout the season, Chana has demonstrated remarkable reliability, boasting a perfect 100% finish record.

His trusty Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X has performed flawlessly, allowing him to focus on his driving prowess without worrying about mechanical issues.

"The car ran smoothly with no issues. Just after stage 1, I decided to change the setup on the suspension. We were 2nd on the power stage which is good for our points tally," Chana shared, highlighting his meticulous approach to fine-tuning his vehicle for optimum performance.

Acknowledging the crucial support he receives, Chana expressed gratitude to Rubis Energy for their sponsorship and belief in his abilities.

He also credited his wife, brothers, and dedicated crew for their unwavering support throughout his rallying journey.

"I would firstly thank Rubis Energy for supporting me and believing in me. My wife and brothers for the support and my crew. We went into this rally to consolidate our points and make sure the gap stays open," he added with heartfelt appreciation.

As the championship progresses, the racing community eagerly awaits to see if Chana can maintain his form and clinch the ultimate prize.
