Kenyan prodigy Hamza Anwar faced a challenging moment as his Ford Fiesta Rally3 car rolled in the heart of the Karoutes section at the Acropolis Rally Greece.

Kenyan rally driver Hamza Anwar faced a daunting challenge at the 2023 WRC EKO Acropolis Rally Greece when he dramatically rolled his Ford Fiesta Rally3 car during the Karoutes section on Saturday.

The sudden turn of events took place with just four stages remaining to the end of the prestigious three-day event.

Anwar, known for his meticulous driving skills and determination, had secured a commendable third position prior to the mishap.

Fans of the sport are holding their breath as they await an official statement from Anwar's team regarding the condition of his Ford Fiesta Rally3 car and his prospects of participating in the anticipated SS13 Tarzan stage on Sunday.

Adding to the complexity of the rally for Anwar is his partnership with Julia Thurin, an experienced Swedish co-driver. The pair teamed up for the WRC Junior World Rally Championships, and their synergy on the tracks was beginning to turn heads.

Meanwhile, the Acropolis Rally Greece continued to surprise and captivate. Paraguayan Diego Dominguez, another prominent face in the all-Ford Fiesta Rally3 category, is on the verge of clinching his third victory of the season.

His journey towards the top took an unexpected turn when overnight joint leader Laurent Pellier was compelled to pull out due to a malfunctioning gearbox.

The setback for Pellier catapulted Dominguez to the forefront, boasting a lead of 2 minutes 30.9 seconds over Ireland's rally star Eamon Kelly. This lead only grew as the day progressed.

Dominguez himself faced his own set of challenges, notably battling power steering issues throughout the morning session.

Another noteworthy performance comes from Tom Rensonnet, who, despite being 3min 26.7sec behind Kelly, has established himself securely in the third spot.

His performance is especially significant with a 1min 37.3sec lead over Nataniel Bruun, a newcomer making his WRC debut.

Roberto Blach and William Creighton, two more remarkable drivers, complete the top six in what has been a riveting championship.
