Legendary International Automobile Federation (FIA) Africa steward Willie Du Plessis has passed on after an illness.
FIA Africa said it was shocked by the death of the veteran rally official who was an indefatigable supporter of rally events across the continent.
“One of the biggest trees of our era in Rallying has fallen. It is with immense sadness to share with you that Willie Du Plessis has passed on. You will be remembered with fondness and love. The steps you have made will forever be visible," FIA Africa said.
