The brothers will officially launch their rallying careers in the upcoming EMC Jinja Rally, marking their highly anticipated competitive debut in the rallying world.
The event is scheduled to take place from July 7 to July 9, 2023, with entries closing on July 1st.
Yasser Ali Omar, also known as "Bobo," has already showcased his skills in the motorsport scene, having participated in several sprints.
In his most recent venture at the muddy Buloba Forest Park, he impressively finished ninth out of a competitive field of 30 competitors, driving a Mitsubishi Evo 4.
Now, he will team up with his brother, Wazir Omar, as they enter the Clubman Rally Championship class and aim to make their mark in their rallying debut.
"We put in the entry, and we want to see how this whole thing of rallying flows,” Bobo said in an interview with RallyGanda.
“We're coming for experience, but we're also thinking about competing. Let's see how we start."
The brothers are eager to gain valuable experience and test their skills against seasoned rally drivers in the CRC class.
The current standings feature notable competitors such as Joshua Muwanguzi, who currently leads the pack, followed closely by Godfrey Kiyimba.
The Ali Mohammed brothers, who showcased their potential in the Hoima Kabalega Rally, are also contenders to watch out for.
With the Omar brothers now posing a threat in the CRC class, the stage is set for an exhilarating rally filled with thrilling performances.
