The NRC heads to the East for its second leg on March 10-12, with the organisers Eastern Motor Club choosing to take the rally to a completely new territory in Bukedea.

As the second round of the National Rally Championship approaches, drivers are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting competition.

The NRC heads to the East for its second leg on March 10-12, with the organisers Eastern Motor Club choosing to take the rally to a completely new territory in Bukedea.

One driver to watch out for is Ronald Sebuguzi, who finished second in the recent Mbarara rally and is determined to win the Bukedea rally.

“Getting a second position is good enough for us to start the season,” Sebuguzi said, adding; “We really wanted to start with victory, but the second position is equally good.”

“This season we plan to take it event by event, and we are now turning our focus to the next rally. The goal now is to focus on victory or maintain a second and carry it on from there,” he declared.

Sebuguzi, a Shell V-Power fuelled driver, navigated by Anthony Mugambwa in a Ford Fiesta R5, has a history of success in the Eastern region.

In 2014, he won the Mount Elgon rally organized by MOSAC, beating out tough competition to take home the victory on his journey to a third national title.

He will also remember his victory during the penultimate round last year in Kaliro which saw him end a 12-rally winless streak.

But he has also had some tough times in the East, notably during the final event of the 2018 NRC title battle with Susan Muwonge that ended with a broken drive shaft in Mbale.

However, he'll have to face some tough competition, including Yasin Nasser, the MOIL-fuelled driver navigated by Ali Katumba in a Ford Fiesta R5, Duncan 'Kikankane'

Mubiru, Hassan Alwi, Jas Mangat, defending champion Byron Rugomoka, and Jonas Kansiime.

With so many skilled drivers in the mix, the Bukedea rally promises to be an exciting event, and fans are eagerly anticipating the action. Sebuguzi, for his part, is ready to give it his all and come out on top.
