It is winter time in South Africa, and the country is freezing at 16 degrees, something the She Cranes have no choice but to adjust to ahead of the 2023 Netball World Cup.
The team has been forced to adjust to the weather, training facility, and ball.
"The team needed to adjust to the cold weather here in Cape Town, unlike the warm weather we were accustomed to back home in Uganda, and that provided a slight challenge," Mugerwa said.
"We are training on wood, the ball is heavier, and these are things we were not used to before we came here," Mugerwa added.
Away from the challenges, the squad is in high spirits: "Our expectations as a team are to get past the group stages of the tournament, and then we can see what happens next," Mugerwa noted.
