She Cranes' head coach, Fred Mugerwa, has highlighted the need to qualify for more international tournaments as the squad prepares for another World Cup.

The She Cranes have played at the 2015 and 2019 Netball World Cups, finishing eighth and seventh, respectively.

"It always inspires us as players and coaching staff to make it to the very peak of the game whenever that time comes around, and so we try our best to make it there", Mugerwa told Pulse Sports.

"The prospect of playing alongside some of the world's best netball players serves as a driving force for the team, providing invaluable exposure and experience," he added.

Selecting the final squad for the upcoming World Cup proved to be a challenging task for Coach Mugerwa.

With a pool of 20 talented players, the decision ultimately came down to various factors such as discipline, work rate, and chemistry with teammates.

"It was not easy picking the final 15," Coach Mugerwa admitted, emphasizing the difficult choices that had to be made to form a cohesive and competitive team," Mugerwa said.

In less than a month, the She Cranes will embark on their journey to compete in the first-ever World Cup to be held on African soil in South Africa.
