Four She Cranes players are set to showcase their skills in the Malaysia Netball Super League, having inked professional contracts.
Shadia Ssegujja Nassanga and Shaffie Nalwanja, both former players for KCCA, have signed one-year contracts with KL Wildcats.
Meanwhile, Faridah Kadondi, previously with Makindye Weyonje, and last season’s top scorer with Prisons Christine Namulumba, have committed to one-year agreements with Perak Phoenix.
This is after their stellar performances at the 2023 Netball World Cup were Uganda finished fifth overall.
Faridah Kadondi expressed her enthusiasm upon finalizing her move to Perak Phoenix and the prospects it brings. “I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to join the club.
There aren’t many professionals from Uganda playing in the Far East, making this a significant opportunity for me and the netball players in Uganda,” she shared with Pulse Sports.
“I have devoted my life to working hard to improve emotionally, financially, and in other aspects. Signing with Perak Phoenix allows me to realize these improvements, and I’m committed to working diligently to achieve even more.”
Kadondi elaborated on the anticipated benefits of her new engagement: “Being part of this club is poised to enhance my skills and offer a platform to shine.”
“The league, broadcasted in over 30 countries, will expose me to superior competition.”
The 2023 Malaysian Netball Super League season is scheduled to commence on October 13th, 2023, at the Juara Stadium in Kuala Lumpur and will conclude on November 5th, 2023.
The league offers a pivotal platform for players like Kadondi to elevate their careers and gain international exposure, allowing for the broadening of horizons for Ugandan netball talents.
