Following their historical showing at the concluded 2023 Netball World Cup, Uganda's women's netball team, the She Cranes are set to touch base in the country on Monday.

And, upon arrival, the national heroes will be treated to a grand reception at the Kampala Serena Hotel, for a sumptuous government dinner.

"The government of Uganda will host the triumphant She Cranes to a grand reception at the Kampala Serena Hotel this evening," a statement from the National Council of Sports read on Twitter.

Following victory over South Africa on Sunday at the Cape Town International Conventional Center, Uganda became the finest netballing country in Africa.

The win also ensured that the She Cranes emerged fifth at the South Africa World Cup, their best ever finish.

In the previous editions, Uganda finished seventh in 2019 in England, eighth in Australia (2015) and 13th in the 1979 Trinidad and Tobago edition.

The She Cranes are the highest ranked African netball team at the 2023 Netball World Cup

In Cape Town, the She Cranes played seven games and picked four victories against South Africa, Singapore, Trinidad and Tobago as well as Malawi.
