Rated Africa's second best, Uganda lived to the billing at the East Africa Club Championships held in Nairobi, Kenya for the last seven days.
Before the championships, Uganda Netball Federation noted that the tournament would help the national team in its World Cup preparations.
Given that over 90% of the provisional national team is drawn from the local clubs.
Uganda's netball giants dominated the regional tournament outclassing their Kenya and Tanzania counterparts in both the women's and men's categories.
National Insurance Corporation (NIC) and Uganda Prisons made it unbeaten in dominant performances to the finale.
In an all Ugandan affair, NIC successfully defended their regional crown against newly-crowned Uganda Super League champions Uganda Prisons.
They overcame the ambitious Prisons winning 49-37 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Nairobi.
The tale of Uganda's dominance was the same in the men's category as Kampala University and WOB played out another Ugandan affair in the grand finale.
WOB defeated Kampala University 50-47 in a closely contested affair.
Despite the dominance, Prisons' Lillian Ajio, a silver-medalist at the Championships, noted that the level of competition from their counterparts has dramatically improved.
"They [Kenya and Tanzania} are getting better and more competitive,” Ajio said before adding.
“We have many Ugandan coaches who would have been training [Kenya clubs] with new techniques and improving their game," she added.
The victories set the tone for Uganda's World Cup preparations amidst the scandals the federation is embroiled in.
The Netball World Cup is slated for July 28th to August 6th, 2023 in Cape Town South Africa, Uganda is in Group B alongside Trinidad and Tobago, New Zealand, and Singapore.
