Petra Kvitova was crowned the Miami Open champion after defeating Elena Rybakina for the prestigious WTA 1000 title on Saturday (April 1st).
The Czech produced a remarkable performance in the final, upsetting Rybakina 7-6(14), 6-2 to claim her first Miami Open title.
By winning in Miami, it is the 35-year-old's 30th career singles title and ninth WTA 1000 title, while Rybakina lost the rare chance of winning the Sunshine Double after winning the Indian Wells two weeks ago.

Petra Kvitova brought back her vintage years defeating Elena Rybakina to claim her first Miami Open title.

Kvitova is the second player in history to win the Women’s singles title in Miami after turning 33, following Serena Williams in 2015. It is her most valuable title in five years.
2 - Most WTA 1000 titles
By winning, she equalled Simona Halep as the third player with the most WTA-1000 titles (nine). Only Serena Williams (13) and Victoria Azarenka (10) have more - since 2009.
3 - Kvitova joins unique league of champions
Kvitova winning her 30th WTA career title in Miami makes her the sixth with most titles this Century. Only Serena Williams (68), Justine Henin (42), Venus Williams (40), Kim Clijsters (40), and Maria Sharapova (36) have more.
