The competition is held to choose the top athletes who will represent the nation in the West Africa and Central Africa Zone competition, which will take place in Accra, Ghana, in August of this year.
A three-day National Junior Swimming Competition with over 50 athletes from 10 states and four clubs is taking place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Swimming Pool in Asaba, Delta State.
Kano, Kaduna, Ondo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo, and Delta are a few of the participating states, along with clubs from other states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The tournament will feature races for both boys and girls in the 200-meter backstroke, 50-meter breaststroke, 100-meter butterfly, and 200-meter individual medley categories.

BADMINTON Grassroot Badminton Outreach to hold in Secondary schools in Ogun
The outreach will involve the local government training 15 secondary school game masters/mistresses.
Boys and girls compete in the 100-meter backstroke and 100-meter breaststroke events as well as both genders in the 200-meter freestyle event.
Nigeria representative will camp in Asaba
The chairman of the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Aquatic Federation, Mr Nse-Obong Samuel expressed his admiration for the athletes' swimming event performances and assured them of their success in the upcoming sub-continental championship.
He added that the athletes who would succeed in representing their nation in the competition in Accra would be housed and trained in Asaba.
He commended the Delta State Government for hosting the National Junior Swimming Competition.
