Kenyan International Veronica Adhiambo’s dream of winning the African title with the women’s national team alias Malkia Strikers is drawing closer after she was called up to do duty for the team in two international events.
The two events in line are the FIVB Challenger Cup from July 27 to 30 France and the Africa Nations Cup from August 6 to 18 in Yaounde, Cameroon.

VOLLEYBALL Turkey-based Adhiambo still dreams of winning African title with Malkia Strikers
The 23-year-old was part of Team Kenya that lost the continental crown to Cameroon in 2021 and now wants to make amends
In a past interview, experienced Adhiambo who currently plays for the Turkish Club Tarsus Belediyespor, revealed that one of her ultimate goals in her career was winning the African title with Malkia Strikers.
“I want to lift the African title because this was my first assignment with the national team in 2021 and it was painful to lose in the final,” Adhiambo said during the event.
She will be joined by fellow Left Attackers Juliana Namutira and Mercy Moim of KCB, Leonida Kasaya of Kenya Pipeline, Jemimah Siango of DCI, and Yvonne Wavinya of Kenya Prisons.
Another vital player called up is Sharon Chumba, who currently plays for Arris Thessaloniki of Greece. She will look to apply her experience as an Opposite Attacker with the help of the Kenya Pipeline duo of Loice Simiyu and Pamela Adhiambo.
The Setters selected include the duo of Emmaculate Nekesa and Esther Mutinda of KCB, Veronica Kilabat of KDF, and Rose Magoi of Kenya Pipeline. The Middle Blockers include Edith Wisah and Belinda Barasa of KCB, Lorine Chebet of Kenya Prisons, Gladys Ekaru, and Trizah Atuka of Kenya Pipeline.
