The Federal polytechnic emerges overall winner with 46 medals.
The Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti has emerged as the overall winner of the 21st edition of the Nigeria Polytechnic Games Association (NIPOGA).
The games were held at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO) in Owo, Ondo State, from January 11 to 22.
Ado-Ekiti Poly emerges winner
Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti won NIPOGA with 46 medals, 23 gold, 14 silver, and nine bronze.

Lagos State Polytechnic came in second with 13 gold, 22 silver, and 17 bronze medals, while The Polytechnic of Ibadan finished third with 10 gold, one silver, and 11 bronze medals.
The female football team of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic defeated Yaba College of Technology 3-2 in the final, while Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa beat Federal Polytechnic Ede 3-1 in a penalty shootout to win the male football event after a goalless draw.
NIPOGA appreciates RUGIPO
The President of the NIPOGA Council, Gani Ogundahunsi has hailed RUGIPO for the successful hosting of the games.
The President, who is also the Rector of RUGIPO, attributed the successful hosting to the support of the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Ogundahunsi added that resilience, hard work, and proper preparations kept the LOC going from the beginning to the end of the games.
“The ultimate thing is to organize a befitting competition that brings honor to the name of our institution and the state at large. We remained focused by not allowing anything to distract us.
“I expect the next hosts, Delta State Polytechnic in Ogwuashi-Uku, to do better than what we did, because they will have learned a lot from us,” he said.
The 22nd edition will be hosted by Delta State Polytechnic in 2025.
