American rapper will carry the Olympic torch in Saint-Denis, Paris, marking a historic moment in the 2024 Games.

American rapper and actor Snoop Dogg will play a significant role in the ceremonial events leading up to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Known for his charismatic presence and multi-faceted career, Snoop Dogg, whose legal name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is set to be one of the final torchbearers, carrying the Olympic flame through Saint-Denis on the eve of the Games' Opening Ceremony.

The choice of Snoop Dogg as a torchbearer highlights the cultural intersection between music, sports, and global events, bringing a unique flavor to the Olympics.

Saint-Denis, a neighborhood renowned for its vibrant culture and history, will witness this iconic artist contribute to the Olympic tradition.

The mayor of Saint-Denis, Mathieu Hanotin, confirmed the rapper's participation, marking it as a historic moment for the community as it is the final stop of the torch relay before the flame reaches its destination at the Eiffel Tower.

Snoop Dogg's involvement in the Olympics extends beyond just carrying the torch.

He has also partnered with NBCUniversal to bring his unique perspective to the Games.

According to an NBC statement released last December, Snoop Dogg will provide regular reports and explore Paris's iconic landmarks for the network’s prime-time shows on NBC and Peacock.

“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris. It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness,” Snoop Dogg expressed in the December NBC statement.

In addition to his duties as a torchbearer and broadcaster, Snoop Dogg has already been engaging with the Olympic spirit.

Earlier this month, he made a memorable appearance at the US Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon. There, he ran a 200-meter exhibition race, clocking in at 34.44 seconds, showcasing his support and enthusiasm for Olympic sports.

The rapper’s presence in Paris is already creating a buzz, as evidenced by a photo he tweeted on Tuesday, with the caption: "U ready? Paris 2024 Olympics ya digggg." The tweet shows Snoop Dogg in a casual pose in Paris, signaling his readiness and excitement for the upcoming events.

His role in the 2024 Paris Olympics is sure to add an unforgettable touch to the ceremonial proceedings, uniting fans of music, sports, and culture around the world.
