Kenya took home four medals in last year event that was held in Mozambique.
Kenyan legendary male boxers include Aziz Ali, Evans Ashira, Richard Hero Murunga, and Fred Kinuthia among others.
In a post on his Twitter account, he said: “Insha’Allah I will be the first Kenyan male boxer to win a WBC title...that's my end goal in boxing.”
However, the women have been well represented by Fatuma Zarika, who became the first Kenyan to win a world title.
She won the final of the super bantamweight title over Jamaica’s Alisha Ashley during the 2016 edition of the World Boxing Council Competitions.
