Speaking to reporters after the second round of the tournament, Namakula emphasized the need for consistency and a higher finish to qualify for the prestigious Toyota World Cup.

Flavia Namakula, the coach of the Uganda junior golf team, expressed concern about the mental aspect of her players' performance during the ongoing All Africa Junior Golf Championship.

Speaking to reporters after the second round of the tournament, Namakula emphasized the need for consistency and a higher finish to qualify for the prestigious Toyota World Cup.

Namakula lamented the performance of her players, especially their inability to maintain focus and consistency throughout the rounds, despite previous discussions and reminders.

Namakula stated; "I don't know what is happening in the heads of our players.”

“They know what is at stake but they get excited after playing a few holes well, yet we have spoken about this several times, but I will continue talking to them."

Uganda's junior golf team had a mixed performance in the second round of the All Africa Junior Golf Championship.

While Frista Birabwa improved her score by four strokes from 86 to 82, and Vivian Achen contributed a score of 89, the team remained in fourth place out of ten teams in the girls' category.

In the boys' category, Juma Abiti and Ibrahim Ssemakula struggled with inconsistency, resulting in scores of 78 and 86 respectively during round two.

Despite Abdul Kakeeto's improved score of 80, Uganda's team total of 240 for the day was not enough to maintain their second-place position, slipping to third place in the boys' ranking.

Meanwhile, South Africa's junior golf team dominated the second round, securing the top position in both the boys' and girls' categories.

South African golfer Jack Buchanan delivered an outstanding performance with a score of 69, including a hole in one to secure top spot in the boys' individual leaderboard.

In the girls' category, South African golfers Kaiyuree Moodley and Kiera Floyd secured the top two positions, leaving Uganda's team trailing behind.
