After defeating Novak Djokovic in the semifinal, Daniil Medvedev secured his third title in three weeks defeating Andrey Rublev in Dubai final.

Daniil Medvedev is a man in form, claiming his third straight title in three weeks at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship.

Medvedev cruised over defending champion Andrey Rublev in straight sets of 6-2 6-2 to win the ATP 500 tournament. By doing this, Medvedev has become the second player to win three titles in a row since Andy Murray in 2011.

In his on-court interview after the match, Medvedev took the opportunity to hit at Stefanos Tsitsipas for saying Rublev had few weapons during the ATP Finals last year.

Daniil Medvedev won the Dubai tournament against Rublev

"First of all, I would like to congratulate Andrey for a great week. I don't think I could be that deep as he was here with the mic, but I just want to say I remember not long ago one player said that he has just a few weapons, and I was reading this and I was like, 'How can you say this?' Medvedev said.

"Andrey is one of the most skillful players on the tour, he just didn't exploit fully his potential, but I'm sure that he can win Grand Slams, hopefully, he can beat the guy who said it many, many times, and I wish this for sure," he added.

"I feel like people start to know that Andrey is the kindest person on tour, but I just want to say it out loud so everyone knows it. Congrats to you and your team, and hopefully we can have more, more finals together," Medvedev concluded.

Rublev also had some lovely words for Medvedev, talking about how he has so much respect for him.

"I think I never told Daniil face to face, but I have a huge respect for him, he's a real inspiration. We know each other since we were kids - Daniil didn't have much financial help, but he proved he's a real champion."

Since losing to Sebastian Korda in the Australian Open third round and dropping out of the top ten, Medvedev hasn't lost any match. He has won fourteen consecutive matches, which includes defeating world No.1 Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of this same championship yesterday.
