The Kenyan Fencing Federation has fired back at the German-born fencer Alexandra Ndolo concerning her outrageous demands in her preparations ahead of the Olympic Games in Paris, France.
As reported by Capital Sports, the federation president Fred Chege explained that the 2022 women’s epee world silver medallist is making excessive financial demands that they have been unable to meet because of various challenges.

Alexandra Ndolo has lashed out her frustrations once again concerning the Kenyan federation that has contributed to her missing the World Cup.
He explained that the World Cups are just a series of build-up competitions leading to the Olympics and an athlete has to play in at least six matches.
“Considering she is the top-ranked in Africa, Alex has already qualified for Paris and she knows this. We have tried to ask her to attend only the essential competitions in light of our financial challenges but she has refused,” Chege said.
Ndolo had taken to a post on her Instagram page to lament about being neglected one more time, which forced her to miss out on the first World Cup of the 2023/24 season in Legnano, Italy.

He also explained that the federation is still young and they only got affiliated to the National Olympic Committee in 2019.
“We acknowledge she played a pivotal role in this as well as the growth of fencing in Kenya but she should understand our situation as well instead of sulking,” he noted.

The German-born Kenyan edged closer to being the first Kenyan fencer to qualify for the Olympics.
Meanwhile, Ndolo did not take Chege’s response lightly as she said that Chege is like a man who is ignorant of the qualification process for the Olympics as far as fencing is concerned.
“This clearly shows that he has no idea about the Olympic qualification process. Fencers qualify through the world ranking.
The highest-ranked African athlete gets the ticket. The other African athletes go to the African qualifier tournament in Algiers,” she explained.
