Team Kenya will be locking horns with Zambia in their Victoria Cup match opener and their captain, George Nyambua is confident of a good outcome.

The men’s national rugby 15s side Kenya Simbas team captain George Nyambua has fired warning shots ahead of their Victoria Cup opener against Zambia in a match scheduled for King’s Park Arena in Kampala, Uganda.

Nyambua noted that the squad is ready to rumble and they believe they have all it takes to show their opponents dust.

He explained that they are still building up from where they left after taking a short break after the Currie Cup and noted that they are also anticipating a good show at the Elgon Cup.

“For us, we are still building up from where we left at the Currie Cup. We came and had a short break and then went to camp again.

The boys are in good spirits and we are ready to take it from where we left. For us the journey continues because you know we are getting ready for 2027.

This will be one of our buildup matches towards our journey because we must achieve our dream,” he said.

Team Kenya will be seeking to make an appearance in the 2027 Rugby World Cup and Nyambua is confident that with such build-up matches, the squad will surely attain their dreams.

He added that returning to the Victoria Cup since 2021 is a delight for the team and they will do due diligence to make an impact upon their comeback.
