The Golf Match Play Challenge has made a grand return with Stanbic Bank as the tournament's main sponsor for the next three years.
Taking over from Uganda Breweries brand, Stanbic Bank has come in with a UGX 500 million boost for three years.
This was confirmed a press conference held at Stanbic Bank, Umoja House branch in Nakasero on Wednesday.
"This afternoon, we also want to pledge our long-term support for the sport of Golf," said Sam Mwogeza, the Executive Head of Personal and Private Banking.
"That is why we are investing UGX 500 million for the next three years to make the Stanbic Match Play Challenge 2024 worth the bill," he added.
The event was also graced by representatives from the Entebbe Golf Club, and from other sponsors, including Cfao Motors, Dstv Uganda and Uganda Airlines.
"We are thankful to Stanbic Bank for their continued generosity. They are also our sponsors for the Entebbe Golf Open," Entebbe Club captain Serwano Walusimbi said.
The other packages will include an annual UGX 25 million from Dstv, and a car to the eventual winner of the tournament from Cfao Motors.
Meanwhile, there will be free tickets to Dubai, Zanzibar and Mombasa for the winner, runners-up and second runners-up, respectively, from Uganda Airlines.
The seven-round tournament (64 pairs) will have the the first challenge take place on March 16, while the final round will happen on October 12.
