The I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series is back in 2024 with a bang, promising golf enthusiasts an exciting array of play formats spread across four rounds throughout the year.

Scheduled to commence on March 9 at the prestigious Entebbe Club, the series aims to build on the success of its 2023 edition, which garnered widespread acclaim for its exceptional organization and engaging golf experiences.

This year's series has been notably included in the annual Golf Union calendar, a testament to its growing prestige and the quality of competition it offers.

The series will span several months, with subsequent rounds taking place on June 29, September 28, and the final round wrapping up the year on December 7.

Each round introduces a unique format to challenge the participants in new and interesting ways. The opening round will see golfers compete in the 'In regulation' format, emphasizing precision and strategy to land on the green in regulation.

The 'Tee for me' format awaits in the second round, introducing a pairs event that requires teamwork and careful shot selection.

The third round will test golfers with the 'Russian Chicago Stableford', a points-based pairs event, and the series will conclude with the 'Double Bogey Danger' format, where players risk losing access to their clubs with each double bogey or worse.

I&M Bank, the headline sponsor of the series, is committed to not only elevating the sporting event but also to utilizing sports as a means for socio-economic growth and community building.

Robin Bairstow, CEO of I&M Bank, emphasized the bank's dedication to supporting sports as a way to foster unity and healthy competition.

The series also welcomes a new Katogo captain, Elly Kibuuka, who is set to carry forward the legacy of his predecessor and contribute to the series' success.

Annette Nakiyaga, Head of Communications and Corporate Affairs at I&M Bank, highlighted the series as an opportunity for golfers to engage in healthy competition, win prizes, and explore business opportunities, reinforcing the sport's role in fostering community and business relationships.

As the I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series gears up to offer an unforgettable golfing experience, it stands as a beacon of sportsmanship, community, and business integration, setting the stage for what is expected to be a landmark event in the regional golfing calendar.
