A sigh of relief for the next stars after the sponsorship boon.
NCBA Group has announced a Ksh7 million sponsorship deal with the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) in support of the development of budding golfers in the country.
The sponsorship deal came during the first leg of the Interschool Golf Tournament held on Friday, March 31 at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club. The main aim of hosting the tournament was to provide a platform for young golfers to showcase their skills and compete against their peers.
NCBA’s Group Director of Marketing, Communication, and Citizenship Nelly Wainaina expressed her excitement about being part of the initiative. She said the sponsorship will look to support about 20 junior events across Kenya and the East African region.
“We are excited to be investing in the game of golf and supporting its development through supporting such junior tournaments. This is a great partnership that we hope will see even more junior golfers taking up the sport,” she said.

A stiff competition is also expected in the men section where most of the golfers from both Muthaiga and Karen are drawn in the stableford event.
On her part, JGF president Regina Gachora, extended a hand of gratitude to NCBA for the sponsorship.
With the deal, Gachora said they will be keen to get children to pick up playing the sport from a young age.
“We believe this is the platform that will produce for us our next generation who will participate in major tournaments including the Magical Kenya Open and even the Olympics,” she added.
