The Nigeria Handball Under 18 and 20 teams have qualified to play at the Continental International Handball Federation (IHF) Challenge Trophy in Congo Brazzaville, Congo.
The Continental championship is slated for December 12 to 18, 2022.
Nigeria picked the ticket after winning the IHF Trophy Tournament for Africa Zone 3 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The matches
On her way to champion, Nigeria's teams defeated the host country Ivory Coast in front of her fans in the Under 18 and 20 team finals.
The under-18 team side recorded 100% performance in Ivory Coast after beating the host 29-24 in the final with Niger Republic winning the bronze medal after defeating Benin Republic 27-25.
The Male team defeated Niger Republic 29-24 in the semi-final. The team had earlier defeated Liberia 79-15 with the side recording the highest results in the competition.
For the under-20 side, it was a tense final for Coach Fidelis Obi led team, the last shot of the match earned them a 29-28 victory over the host.
The under-20 team was defeated in the semi-final by the Niger Republic 34-28.
It is a dream Come true for the coaches, who had earlier targeted a good outing in Ivory Coast before leaving the country.
