Francis Orbih Esq., the president of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN), was elected to serve on the Badminton Confederation Africa (BCA) council during the world congress, which was held on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He had already failed in his bid for a two-year term in 2021. But when his time eventually arrived this year, he bowed to victory and won a four-year tenure as opposed to the shorter one he lost.
Orbih said that Nigeria is back in the boardroom where choices regarding how the sport of badminton is run in Africa.
He added that, "Nigeria will definitely have more voice in influencing positively such decisions making."
The president of the BCA, Tukebana Michel Bau of the Seychelles, kept his position. He received a no-comment return. Kingsley Mulenga of Zambia was chosen as the vice president, unseating incumbent Amine Zobiri of Algeria.
