Six men including triple World Champion Noah Lyles and football star Lionel Messi have been nominated for the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year Award to be held in Madrid on April 22.
Lyles was nominated after his breathtaking performance at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary where he won triple gold.

The American is not settling as he seeks to win a quadruple at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, France, scheduled for later this year.

Meanwhile, following Messi’s show-stopping win in Paris last year, the Argentine is again nominated for the prestigious award, after a year in which he won a record eighth Ballon d’Or and led Inter Miami CF to victory in the Leagues Cup – his 44th trophy, and another record.
On his part, Novak Djokovic, a four-time winner of this Award, won in Melbourne, New York, and Paris to move to 24 major titles, matching Margaret Court for the all-time mark in tennis.
