Omanyala is also confident that the country can host the Africa and World Beach Games.

The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) is keen on growing beach sports by having a solid fanbase.

After successfully hosting the inaugural Beach Games over the weekend, NOC-K Secretary General Francis Mutuku observed that there was a lot of interest from people.

He revealed that access to venues is what makes it difficult for people to attend events and in the future, they will work to ensure there is easy fan access to events.

Through the strategy, Mutuku believes many people will be able to attend either as participants or fans.

"We need to take the sport to the fans...people love sports. There are also a lot of people who have an interest in the sport and going forward, we shall be keen to spread the sports to the grassroots,” Mutuku said.

The Beach Games were used as a build-up to the Africa Beach Games scheduled for June in Tunisia and later the World Beach Games in Bali.

The event was also held to be used as a blueprint ahead of bidding to host the 2025 Africa Beach Games.

Meanwhile, Africa 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala is bullish about the country hosting the Africa and World Beach Games.

He noted that the country has all it takes to do that and with proper structures in place, all will be set.

“Many people come to the country for vacations and that shows how much people love the beach. NOC-K should get it right…I know we can host the Africa and World Beach Games,” he said.
