The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has commenced a sports administration course for members of the Football Academies Forum (FAF) and Association Proprietors of Football Academies of Nigeria (APFAN).
The training, organized by the NOC in conjunction with Lasora Sports Consultancy and Agency, is a three-day program with participants coming from all parts of Nigeria.
The event started on Monday at the Sultan Hotel in Ilorin and was declared open by the Secretary General of the NOC, Tunde Popoola, who represented the NOC President, Engr. Habu Gumel.
Popoola stated that the program is in accordance with the International Olympic Committee's goal of using sports administration as a means of training government officials in the growth of sports at all levels.
He noted that the course's concept is one of the Olympic Agenda 2020's recommendations, which calls for renewed and ongoing investment in sports protection.

He said, "Education programs of this nature are critical in ensuring that key stakeholders are not left out of emerging global trends in sports management and administration."
Resource persons who will guide participants are the Director of NOC, Professor Clement Fasan; Emmanuel Nweri, the senior manager of the Nigeria Olympic Committee,the National Course director; the National Sport Administration Course in Nigeria; and Professor Leah Dominic from the University of Ilorin.
Others include the chairman of the NOC Athletes Commission and ex-international basketball player; Olumide Ayodeji, Dr.George Ashiru, and Dr. Toyin Aluko.
Among many participants at the programme are the Sportspro News Publisher; Bayour Issah, former ABS FC gaffer; Coach Salihu Yusuf, Football manager; Yinka Ojokojo and ex-international female footballer turned Coach, Victoria Aidelomon Ikawo and a host of others.

Berackiah Coaching Clinic set to add values to grassroots coaches
LSFCA, in conjunction with Berackiah Football Coaching International, fixed July 3 for the commencement of the coaching clinic for grassroots coaches in Lagos State.
All the participants will be presented with a certificate of participation when the conference ends on Wednesday, May 10.
