The event had been indefinitely postponed due to the sudden demise of KVF boss Waithaka Kioni.

The Paul Bitok International tournament has been rescheduled to May for the semifinal and final matches to be staged at the Moi International Sports Centre Indoor Arena.

The tournament had been indefinitely postponed due to the sudden demise of the now laid-to-rest Kenya Volleyball Federation president Waithaka Kioni. KVF Vice president Charles Nyaberi has taken up the spot temporarily ahead of the elections.

In the women’s semi-final, reigning national league champions Kenya Pipeline Company will take on former champions Kenya Prisons. Pipeline go into the match unbeaten and only lost a set in their tie against the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

On their part, the wardresses only lost one of their matches (3-0) to the reigning African champions KCB, and will be looking for redemption.

The second semi-final will be between KCB and DCI. KCB also go into the match having won all their previous games and will be ready to trounce DCI.

DCI are also a worthy opponent considering they managed to get a set from the national champions, something all the teams failed to accomplish.

On the men’s side, Prisons Kenya will face Trailblazers who have been in impressive form since they started their campaign at the tourney.

On their part, Prisons Kenya also go into the match oozing with confidence after successfully defeating champions GSU 3-1 in their match played at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

Meanwhile, KDF will take on KPA at the same venue. Both teams go into the match after dominating the pool stages and quarterfinal matches. The matches are scheduled between May 5 and 6.
