MOTORSPORTS Government pumps Ksh1.4 billion to support Safari Rally
The highly-anticipated event is scheduled for Thursday, June 22 to Sunday, June 25 in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
Rovanpera and former champion Sebastian Ogier both field Toyota GR Yaris cars along with Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta, the Japanese star, twice a podium finisher in the Safari Rally.
Hyundai Motorsport has entered a trio of i20 Ns for Esapekka Lappi, Thierry Neuville, and Dani Sordo, while Ott Tänak, Pierre-Louis Loubet, and privateer Jourdan Serderidis will pilot M-Sport Ford Pumas.
Kajetan Kajetanowicz tops the WRC2 entry in a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, while other entrants in the premier support category include Grégoire Munster (Ford Fiesta Rally2), Karan Patel (Ford Fiesta R5) and Carl Tundo, a five-time Safari rally champion (Skoda Fabia).
Youngsters Jeremiah Wahome, McRae Kimathi, and Hamzar Anwar will also be battling it out for top honours in the category. The trio will be driving the Ford Fiesta R3.

Thierry Neuville leads a strong three-car Hyundai team to the WRC Safari Rally.
Meanwhile, only four drivers have confirmed participation in the National Championship. They include Evans Nzioka, Nikhil Sachania, Minesh Rathod, and Josiah Kariuki. However, more drivers can register for the category since the deadline is on Wednesday, June 14.
