Roman Reigns will face Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber next month, rather than WWE WrestleMania 39, following the dramatic fallout at Royal Rumble.
The Undisputed WWE universal champion Roman Reigns will finally get his revenge against Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber next month, rather than WWE WrestleMania 39, reports have stated.
Following their split during the Royal Rumble over the weekend, many fans argued on social media that Sami and the Tribal chief should face off in the main event of WrestleMania 39.
However, a new report has now said despite how popular Sami is right now, Triple H has some other plans for WWE’s biggest pay-per-view event of the year.
Sami Zayn turned on The Bloodline at 2023 Royal Rumble
The Royal Rumble on Saturday evening saw Roman Reigns successfully defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in the main event.
After Roman defeated KO, the drama that followed is one that has been lauded by fans as one of the best segments WWE has produced in decades.
The head of the table started attacking KO, but Sami Zayn stepped in the way to stop ‘The Tribal Chief’, before Reigns handed his stablemate a chair and asked him to attack Owens.
But in a dramatic twist, Zayn blasted Roman with the chair instead, essentially turning on The Bloodline, before the group brutally assaulted him to close out the show.
Sami Zayn vs Roman Reigns to clash at Elimination Chamber?
Much to the displeasure of Sami Zayn fans, the former NXT Champion will likely not be facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39.
According to a report from Wrestling Observer, Sami Zayn vs Roman Reigns will face off at the main event of Elimination Chamber on February 18, which takes place in Montreal.
Meanwhile, Jey Uso who has teased leaving The Bloodline having tried to defend Sami Zayn, might also find himself defending his Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania alongside Jimmy against Zayn and Kevin Owens.
The report also says the plan for Roman Reigns, seems to be for him to put his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against Cody Rhodes, who won the Royal Rumble on Saturday evening.
WWE have already confirmed the duo will clash at the main event of Wrestlemania 39 in early April.
