The Futsal Super League is set to make a comeback at the Old Kampala Sports Arena this weekend after a year-long hiatus.
Fans and players eagerly await the thrilling action as six teams gear up to compete in this year's tournament, which will feature only two matchdays—a departure from the previous season's extended two-month duration.
Moses Wantimba, the Association's spokesperson, shed light on the shortened season, emphasizing the organization's commitment to enhancing the underlying structures.
"We have decided to reduce the season's length compared to previous editions. This strategic move allows us to focus on strengthening our administrative framework, ultimately resulting in an improved product in the long term," Wantimba explained to Pulse Sports.
However, this year's competition will be absent from two significant teams, Aidenal and Park FC.
Despite their remarkable performances in the last season, finishing in the top three, both teams faced compliance issues that prevented their participation in the tournament.
Wantimba clarified, "We regret to announce that Park FC and Aidenal have failed to meet the requirements to compete in the Futsal Super League this season."
Last season's finale was a nail-biting affair, as Kampala Junior Team (KJT) narrowly clinched victory over formidable opponents Park FC on the final day of the competition.
Their triumph has set the stage as they will strive to retain their coveted crown against the backdrop of formidable challengers.
