Nigerian music superstar Davido is expected to release his maiden special collaboration with sportswear giants Puma this year.
Nigerian music star Davido endured a difficult year in 2022, following the tragic loss of his son Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The multi-award-winning singer and performer stepped back from the limelight following the tragedy, with some big plans involving the Afrobeats star postponed and highly-anticipated shows cancelled.
However, the 30-year-old singer returned to the spotlight in December 2022.
Davido was slated to perform in the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but his performance was postponed following the heartbreaking news in his family.

Eventually, the energetic superstar returned for the closing ceremony, performing the 2022 World Cup official theme song ‘Hayya Hayya (Better Together)’ with Trinidad Cardona and Aisha.
His performance completely shut down social media in Nigeria with fans, colleagues, and friends of the star showing love and support upon his return to his craft.

Prior to the heartbreaking incident, Davido was slated to release a special collection with sportswear giants Puma.

Davido and Puma began their ambassadorial relationship sometime around December 2021, appearing in different ads and their flagship store in Nigeria.
He also appeared on the Puma runway during New York Fashion week.
In October, Davido teased a collaboration between Puma and his charity organization We Rise By Lifting Others [WRBLO].
The collection featured urban, athletic outfits and shoes in green.
The official launch was initially slated for late last year, but was eventually postponed till 2023.
‘We have made the difficult but necessary decision to reschedule the launch of the PUMA x Davido collection to 2023.
All customers who have pre-ordered may receive their orders when we launch, convert your purchase to store credit, or request a full refund.’ a statement from PUMA read.
The collection was made available for pre-order on the store prior to the postponement of the official release.
Puma also confirmed that customers who had also made pre-ordered purchases would be refunded.

As of the time of this report, the company is yet to confirm the official date of the release.
However, following Davido’s latest social media announcement on Tuesday, it is expected that the plans for the official release would re-commence after it was halted last year.
The 30-year-old singer announced the release of his fourth studio album titled ‘Timeless’ on Tuesday, which indicates that OBO is set for a full return to the limelight.
