Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president Moses Magogo says women are now playing much better football than their male counterparts.
The FUFA boss made the remarks while hosting the Kampala Queens Football Club, champions of the Women’s Super League, at Parliament on Tuesday.
“Encourage everyone to support women’s football wherever they are because these girls are playing much better football in quality and entertainment,” Magogo claimed.
Magogo appealed for support for women’s football, noting that several players from the team have since joined the professional ranks.
“Our creation of the club and objective is to provide the girl-child who is talented an opportunity to showcase football,” Magogo noted.
“We have girls who have left the club and joined professional ranks. We believe many among these will also join shortly, which is our dream,” he added.
The Kampala Queens will represent Uganda in the CECAFA Zonal Championships Qualifiers for the CAF Women Champions League later this year.
