Germany’s Dimitrij Ovtcharov has promised to give more to Lagos fans at the ongoing World Table Tennis, WTT, Contender Lagos.
Ovtcharov made the comments following massive support from Lagosian during his match inside the Molade Thomas Indoor Hall at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Dima eased into the second round of the competition after a blistering display against South Korea’s Park.
He thrashed Park in straight sets after an 11-4, 11-7, 11-9 victory to qualify for the second round with full support from Lagosians.

After the win, Dima, who is known as the German machine, reacted to the support he got and promised that more will come from him in the tournament.
“The first round is always tough,” he told the WTT Lagos media. “I felt when I went into the box the whole crowd supported me.”
“I directly got a smile on my face, more confidence in my heart, and I enjoyed playing this match. I think I played really good ball. It moved well. He was very aggressive.”
Speaking further on the game, Dima noted that the game against his Korean opponent was a tough one.

The Molade Okoya Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium will host the WTT Contender, which is slated for June 12–18.
“The last set was a high level as my opponent played many strong releases,” he added. “There was lot of good stuff for the spectators to see. I am happy I went through and I am looking forward to the match against the Chinese tomorrow.”
