YOUTH GAMES Team Kenya hope to acclimatise in time for medal hunt at Commonwealth Youth Games
The Kenyan youngsters landed in Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday and hope to get used to the weather before the first event on Saturday.
The young squad, however, did not rest on their laurels as they bounced back to take the win over Wales. They played a tactical game to win 20-12 over their opponents. The young Lionesses are yet to face off against the hosts, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada, and defending champions Australia.
In other games played, Team Kenya also managed to impress, with Akier Mutinda and Sara Mose making a statement in swimming.
Mose finished first in heat three of the girls' 50m butterfly event, while Mutinda achieved a Personal Best time.
The National Beach Volleyball ladies’ duo of Abigail Chebet and Sharon Jepkogei also bagged maximum points by defeating the hosts 2-0 to secure a spot in the quarter-finals, where their determination and teamwork continue to shine.
