The club chairpersons and URU met on Thursday evening, and Pulse Sports understands there will be money wired to teams by the close of business Friday.
The Uganda Rugby Union has told clubs and the public that the Nile Special Rugby Premier League games scheduled for the weekend must go on.
In a short communication via social media, the Union revealed that: “NOTE: All games will be played as scheduled this weekend.”
On Thursday, two fixtures were left hanging in the balance after Kobs and Rams agreed to postpone their fixture.
Kobs cited an inability to field a team for the game, while Rams suggested they were too broke to carry on with league games and were struggling to facilitate training sessions.
As if that was not enough drama, Walukuba Barbarians joined the conversation by writing to Makerere Impis requesting the postponement of their Saturday fixture due to financial challenges.
The teams’ cries resurrected the conversation regarding sponsorship from Nile Special and why clubs were yet to receive the 10m balance with five games left to the end of the season.

RUGBY Cash-strapped Walukuba uncertain as rugby premiership threatens to break into chaos
Walukuba is threatening the same for their tie with Impis due to financial challenges.
Teams received 10m in February and were expecting another 10m from the Rugby Union and the sponsor in March.
But with that money yet to hit the club accounts, many are finding it hard to negotiate the final bend of the 18-game season.
The club chairpersons and URU met on Thursday evening, and Pulse Sports understands there will be money wired to teams by the close of business Friday.
Walukuba and the Rams are still in a relegation fight and desperately need points from the remaining fixtures.
The Rams are bottom of the log with just eight points from 13 games, while Walukuba occupies the eighth spot with 14 points.

RUGBY Rugby clubs to receive sponsorship money before weekend league games
On Thursday, Walukuba Barbarian wrote to Makerere Impis requesting that their game be postponed due to financial constraints.
Whereas the challenges for the two relegation-threatened sides are financial, Kobs claim to need more numbers to field a team for the clash with the bottom side.
All the attention will be on what happens Saturday afternoon, whether there will be any walkovers and who the beneficiaries will be.
Release of funds to clubs on Friday would leave the Union with every right to take serious action against any club that fails to honour a scheduled game.
