This means that Kubu could only be involved in one more match this season.
Kabras Sugar will be without influential flyhalf Jone Kubu for the Tisap 7s of the National Sevens Circuit after he was handed an 11-match suspension over stamping.
The Fijian-born player was cited for the offence which took place during Kabras Sugar’s 7-5 loss to Strathmore Leos in the Cup semi-final at the Christie Sevens in Nairobi on Sunday.

RUGBY KCB close in on Kabras Sugar after Christie win as fight for Sevens Circuit title tightens
The Bankers have reduced Kabras’ lead to just two points with as many rounds remaining in the National Sevens Circuit.
Kabras failed to reach the cup final for the first time in this season’s Sevens Circuit, finishing third following a 19-12 win over Nakuru RFC in the playoff match, having managed wins at Driftwood and Prinsloo and second place at Dala sevens.
“Jone Kubu (Kabras Sugar) has been suspended for 11 weeks after being cited for stamping during the Christie 7s cup semifinal against the Strathmore Leos on Sunday 13 August 2023,” Kenya Rugby Union announced on Monday.
“The 11-week suspension when applied in sevens rugby translates to 11 matches and took effect from the Christie 7s third place playoff.”
It means Kubu will miss the next 11 matches for Kabras who will have to win the Tisap Sevens and reach at least the semi-final of Kabeberi Sevens for him to be involved again this season.
