Former Kabras Sugar RFC captain Dan Sikuta seems to have secured a move overseas following his departure from the Kenya Cup champions least month.

Sikuta parted ways with Kabras following the expiry of his contract having won six trophies at the club that he joined in 2016.

The flanker won the Kenya Cup twice as well as many Enterprise Cup and added the National Sevens Circuit as and Charity Cup for the sugar millers who he joined, after five years at Mwamba RFC, and also captained the Kakamega-based side in the 2021-22 season.

It appears the former Kenya Sevens star has swapped Kenya for a stint abroad after landing in Halifax in the province of Nova Scotia in Eastern Canada.

“When one door closes another one opens. God's time and blessings are best,” Sikuta posted on social media on Monday following his departure from Kenya.

His old club Kabras, appearing to put a seal of approval on the move, also wished him well while thanking him for the years of service.

“Thank you for everything captain Sikuta and good luck in your future endeavours Skubez,” Kabras said on Wednesday.

Sikuta had penned an emotional farewell to Kabras while announcing his departure last month.

“It has been a tough decision to make leaving Kabras RFC that has been home to me for many years. We had a meeting with club management and agreed that I will leave the club when my contract expires,” he said.

“I'm very proud for the titles we won here (2 Kenya Cup,2 Enterprise,1 Seven's circuit cup). All these we have earned through determination, believe, discipline and hard work from all the club stakeholders.

“To the coaches (Mike Bishop, Cardovilis, Henley, Mzi, Jerome) that who helped develop my rugby career salute to you.

“To my former teammates I'm grateful for good environment we created and achieved a lot together. And also allowing me to lead you guys as captain. I wish you guys all the very best in your upcoming assignments.
