It was bound to happen, and so it did.
The Platinum Credit Heathens became the first team to beat Impis this season in the Nile Special Rugby League on Saturday at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds.
Heathens won 55-10 to pick up their fifth campaign win, along with a bonus point.
The home side crossed the white line through Aaron Ofoywroth's hat-trick of tries while captain Michael Wokorach added two. Scot Olouch, Nicholas Kato, and Herbert Champara are the others that managed a try each.
Ivan Otai scored Impis' only game try; Henry Nsekuye converted and scored a penalty but reasoned that his team could have done the basics on the day to keep their unbeaten run intact.
"We didn't do the simple things like position awareness right. Heathens, a very experienced team, capitalized on that," he said before adding."We were also almost a man down the entire game because of the yellow and red cards, so we just have to clean up and do better."
For Michael Wokorach, the Heathens executed the game plan to win the game.
"We had a good game because the boys knew the task of executing the game plan. We took an early lead at halftime and maintained the lead, so I am happy for the boys and the win," he noted before adding. "It was a collective effort from the team, and we are also happy we got a bonus point because we shall need it at the end of the season."
Aaron Ofoywroth made three conversions, as Chris Lubanga added another.
