At the event, head coach Mohamed Athiyo used the opportunity to praise the team's recent performance and remind the players of the importance of team spirit and unity.

Celebrations are still ongoing in the Platinum Credit Heathens camp following the team's ascendency to the top of the Nile Special Rugby Premier League last Saturday.

A controversial 19-12 over rivals Kobs moved the defending champions to the top of the log, with 59 points from 13 games.

While Kobs are still waiting for an explanation from the Uganda Rugby Union regarding what transpired last Saturday, Heathens have moved on and waiting for their next fixtures to conclude the season.

And as a way of celebrating the team and propagating chemistry, the Heathens Fanzone, in collaboration with Gaucho Grill, organised a team bonding event for the players and technical staff.

The Heathens Fanzone is a subscription-based membership club comprising die-hard fans of the Heathens Rugby Football Club.

These fans are known for their unwavering support of the team, and they have gone the extra mile to ensure that their team feels appreciated.

The team bonding event, dubbed 'Heathens Team Bonding,' was held on Good Friday at Gaucho Grill, a high-end restaurant in Bwebajja along Entebbe Road.

"We thought we would do something special for the team to celebrate their recent critical win over the KOBs and to help them prepare for the remaining games of the season." Edward Kiwanuka, the Vice Chairman of the Heathens Fanzone Executive Committee, said.

At the event, head coach Mohamed Athiyo used the opportunity to praise the team's recent performance and remind the players of the importance of team spirit and unity.

One of the fans in attendance, Desire Derekford Mugumisa, expressed his admiration for the team's efforts, saying, "As fans, we are proud of the team's recent win and the dedication they have shown throughout the season to bounce back from that false start."

Heathens started the season with a 24-18 loss to Stanbic Black Pirates but have since gone on to win 12 games in a row.

The victory over Kobs completed a double over their rivals to go three points clear at the top.

With five games left to play, the Kyadondo-based side are in the driving seat in the title race.
