The first-round clash between the two sides was decided with the last kick of the game, Aaron Ofoyrwoth splitting the uprights with a drop goal to win it for Heathens at Legends.

When Platinum Credit Heathens face off with Kobs at Kyadondo Saturday afternoon, it will be a clash of giants in the fight for this year’s Nile Special Rugby League title.

The two sides are neck-to-neck in the race, with Kobs (55) on top of the log, one point ahead of their rivals Heathens (54).

The team that takes the day on Saturday will have taken a giant step towards the finish line, and the Heathens will go into the game as slight favourites because of their home record.

Kobs last picked a win over Heathens at Kyadondo in 2014.

Muhammad Athiyo has named a team full of experience. It is a side that needs no team talk going into a big game like this.

Hooker Cyrus Wathum has played in this game for the two sides, having crossed from the blue of Kobs to the yellow of Heathens.

He will form the team’s front row alongside Santos Ssenteza and Peter Bisaso.

Heathens lock Charles Uhuru is suspended for the whole season after his dangerous play in the first-round encounter at Legends.

Simon Olet and Akera Komakech are the players chosen to start in the second row for the defending champions.

Joachim Chisano missed the first-round clash with an injury but is back in time for this one. He will form a back row that also features the experienced Scot Oluoch and Shadon Munoko.

There is even more experience in the halfback positions. Veterans Faisal Gamma and Chris Lubanga will play at scrum half and flyhalf, respectively.

The duo understands what it takes to play and win big games like these and will offer leadership on the field of play.

Trevor Ochan and Innocent Gwokto will take charge of the Heathens midfield while Lawrence Sebuliba and Claude Otema patrol the wings.

Joseph Oyet will be the last line of defence at fullback.

Aziz Khan and former Kobs winger Michael Amolo are two outstanding options on the bench.
