With maximum points from all three games, Uganda will top Pool C going into the knock-out phase of the competition.
By the close of business on Thursday, Uganda Rugby Cranes Sevens topped the overall standings of the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series and had scored the most points, 69 to be exact.
Those had come from comfortable 33-05 and 36-10 wins over Brazil and Jamaica, respectively.
And in their last Pool C game played Friday morning against Koreas 7s, the Cranes maintained their high-scoring form in a 40-00 demolition of the Asian side.
Braces from Nobert Okeny and Adrian Kasito got Tolbert Onyango’s troops early in the game before Alex Aturinda and Desire Ayera got in on the act.

Kasito then won a penalty deep inside the Uganda half. Ofoyrwoth scratched quickly before releasing the same Kasito for Uganda’s second try.
Another conversion by Ofoyrwoth gave the Cranes a 14-00 lead.
The three-time African champions were comfortable and took the 14-00 lead into the halftime break.
Okeny added to Uganda’s tally after the restart, sprinting from one try line to the other, and Uganda were out of sight.
Kasito would complete his brace from a quick start after Uganda were awarded a penalty, and the lead ballooned to 28-00.
Alex Aturinda added Uganda’s fifth try before substitute Ayera powered over the line to sum up, Uganda’s comfortable win in their last pool game.
With maximum points from all three games, Uganda will top Pool C going into the knock-out phase of the competition.
The World Challenger Series provides a pathway to the HSBC World Rugby Series Circuit, something Uganda has been pushing to get to since 2017 when they played in the World Series Qualifier in Hong Kong.
Getting past the quarter-final hurdle remains a tough ask, and Onyango and his charges will be hoping to kick the semi-final door open this time.
