Head coach Fred Mudoola has already named a 28-man squad and will be tasked to deliver a rare piece of silverware for the Rugby Cranes.
Rugby Cranes captain has assured Ugandan that his troops will leave everything on the pitch when the Victoria Cup kicks off on Saturday.
Uganda will face off with Kenya and Zambia to fight for the title and home advantage is one of the factors the team will look to exploit.
The Cranes have not played on home soil before a full crowd in four years and the two clashes with Zambia and Kenya will present fans with the opportunity to cheer them on.
“This is the first step to reviving 15s rugby in Uganda, and we are really glad,” Magomu told Pulse Sports.
“There is so much potential here, and as you can see, even the fans are really excited,” he added.
“Despite the short notice and all the challenges, we’ve been able to sacrifice, put our bodies on the line and try to patch up really quick, and I think the coaches are happy.”
With Uganda Rugby Union drawing a line between the 7s and 15s folds, a lot of talent has been taken away from the team, with a focus now on constructing a big pool to select from.
“We are prepared, and we shall leave our all on the pitch, and hopefully, we get to win the Victoria Cup.”
Byron Oketayo and Conrad Wanyama will deputize Magomu.
The clashes against Kenya will also double as the first and second legs of the Elgon Cup, a competition played between the two neighbours.
