Nakuru RFC to play in maiden Kabeberi 7s final against overall title winners KCB

Saying "shock" is an understatement to describe the last day of the Main Cup final of the Kabeberi Sevens, which was the final leg of the 2023/2024 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit held at the RFUEA grounds in Nairobi.

Champions elect- KCB will be facing Nakuru RFC in the final of the tournament after emerging overall winners of the series following Kabras Sugars’ quarter final loss to Oilers in the quarter finals held earlier on Sunday.

Nakuru were down 17-7 at half time, but a spirited second half display saw them score two successfully converted tries to emerge victors.

They will now focus their attention on trying to win their first ever Kabeberi Sevens title.

In the quarter finals earlier this morning, Nondies ended Strathmore’s hopes of winning the title when they beat them 7-5 in a closely contested encounter.

KCB brushed aside Mwamba 33-5, making a statement as champions elect Nakuru beat Harlequins 17-12.

In the Challenge Cup, debutants Tessen Warriors beat Kisumu 28-0, before building on that performance with a 40-7 thumping of Daystar.

Black Blad beat impala 19-15, but fell short to Masinde Muliro in the semis, with Masinde themselves having beaten Moi University 19-5.
