The Sugar Millers snatched the game at the end with a try that was converted successfully to end the game 30-27.

Kabras Sugar have yet again proven to be unbeatable after securing a narrow 30-27 win over KCB to defend their Enterprise Cup title in a thrilling final staged at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday, April 15.

KCB started off the match with an early penalty from Darwin Mukidza which placed them three points ahead of the Sugar Millers. Jack Ojee then touched down for KCB but Mukidza missed the conversion to see the scores stand at 8-0

Quick-fire tries from the Lions elevated them to 15 points clear of their arch-rivals. Mukidza then successfully converted a penalty which added three more points to KCB.

Dan Sikuta of Kabras touched down and the try was successfully converted to earn the Sugar Millers seven points before they went for the halftime break trailing 18-7.

After the break, Kabras got three points. KCB bounced back to kick back-to-back penalties that saw them rise to 24 points. The Sugar Millers then turned the tables and scored through a try but could not convert.

They then added another try and the scores were now 24-13. Kabras charged up again through a try score which was successfully converted to elevate them to 20 points.

A penalty was then awarded to the Lions and Mukidza successfully converted to place KCB seven points ahead. Kabras are also awarded a penalty and they managed to convert successfully placing the scores at 27-23.

The Sugar Millers snatched the game at the end with a try score that was converted successfully to end the game 30-27.

Meanwhile, Kenya Harlequins are the new Mwamba Cup champions after flooring KCB 36-26 in an entertaining match at the RFUEA Grounds.

KCB were off to a good start after taking the lead through Gabriel Namusasi’s unconverted try but Quins charged up to take a penalty from Arnold Onzere and brought the score to 5-3. Lucky Dewald then placed Quins ahead after two more penalties to extend their lead to 9-5.

However, KCB turned the tables courtesy of Edwin Otieno’s try and Levy Amunga’s conversion. The scores now read 12-9 at the half time break.

Dominic Osino of Quins touched down with Onzere converting to place Quins ahead with four points. Although, Andrew Amonde’s converted try restored KCB’s lead to 19-16. Through a penalty by Onzere and a try from Brian Waraba, Quins were ahead with 26 points.

Amonde then touched down for KCB as Amunga converted to equalize the scores. All was not lost for Quins as Onzere struck again with a penalty to put Quins ahead 29-26. Osino scored through a try as Onzere converted to earn Quins 36 points at the whistle blow.
