RUGBY 7s Kenya to test Rugby Cranes ahead of Africa 7s

Uganda Rugby Cranes are the defending champions of the Africa Men's Sevens after winning the title last year at Kyadondo.

The Ugandan National Men’s Rugby sevens team will play Kenya in a trial match at are yet to be confirmed date in preparation for the Africa 7’s title defence and 2024 Olympic qualifiers. 

Uganda is placed in Pool C besides hosts Zimbabwe, Algeria and Burkina Faso in the 12-team tournament that takes place from September 16th-17th in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The team of 20 players is already in Nakuru, Kenya for a one-week solidarity performance camp.

“While in Nakuru, they will play trial matches against Kenya Sevens as part of preparations for the defense of the Rugby Africa 7s title,” Uganda Rugby Union confirmed in a statement on Wednesday.

The 2023 Rugby Africa 7s will double as Africa's qualification tournament for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
