Kobs lead the table with 66 points after the bonus win, one ahead of Pirates who they face on the last day. Heathens drops to third with 63 points with only three games to go.
When the stadium announcer made it clear that Pirates had beaten Heathens 8-6 in the Nile Special Rugby Premiership, Kobs turned a different animal in their second half against Walukuba.
The 2021 champions went on to stage a grand performance that saw them wallop Walukuba Barbarians 50-7.
Pius Ogena, Kobs second leading points scorer and third-best in the league, touched down thrice as Joseph Aredo duly worked on the extras for the former to pick the man-of-the-match award.
Ogena thanked the heavens for that Pirates shocker that dragged them back to the top spot.
However, he has warned that Kobs will take each of their three remaining games as a final. Kobs face Buffaloes and Impis before closing the season against Pirates, all three at Legends.

"The results push us back at the top but that means from now on, we're going to take every game like a final until it's done," he added.
